Service Description
In this course, we will focus on tricks and techniques for sketching plants. We will look at: Identifying shapes that make drawing plants easier Capturing the character of plants Drawing trees Sketching as a creative tool on-site and at your desk Fast observational sketches Foreground, middle ground, back ground and atmospheric perspective Sketching regularly, even if only for a short time, will quickly improve your skills and give you a keener eye when choosing plants. You will be encouraged to loosen up your line, train your observational skills and enjoy the process of sketching. The aim is to give you the confidence to practise. Beginners welcome There will be practical, quick exercises that you can repeat at home when you have a spare few minutes to improve your skills. The classes will each be between 1.5 and 2 hours. Materials: You will need paper, scrap paper, pencils ie HB 4B, fineliner pens a rubber and pencil sharpener Sketching is a great way of quickly capturing a garden atmosphere. Being able to do a quick sketch to illustrate an idea is very useful when with clients. And observing plants and their characters through sketching can help you when choosing plants and assessing a planting scheme.

Please note that bookings are non refundable but you are welcome to transfer tickets to someone else as long as you let me know in advance. Each session will last between 1.5 and 2 hours You will get a recording of the class that can be accessed for 4 weeks. I reserve the right to cancel the course but will do my best to not have to Please make sure you have the sketching tools required ready for when we start.
